Careers have been in flux since the 1980s when the concept of working for more than one company became part of the mainstream with the first “Great Recession.” College graduates of that recession of 1980-82 were the first to seize the opportunities of multiple employers in a single career. Today college graduates are facing several careers over the course of a long period of employment.
